<P><STRONG>Calling all future coders! Do you want to learn to code, but not sure where to start? </STRONG><BR></P>
<P>This prerequisite course is designed for students who have no prior coding/development experience. If you are a complete beginner and want to find out if coding is your cup of tea, join us for an introductory into learning the basics of programming.<BR></P>
<P><STRONG>At the end of this course you will learn:</STRONG><SPAN><STRONG></STRONG><BR></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN>What the internet is and a basic idea of how it works</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN>What a web server is and does</SPAN></P>
<P> What an algorithm is</P>
<P>How web pages are made and served</P>
<P>Some tools/resources to begin self-study</P>
<P><I><STRONG>With the completion of this intro course, you will be equipped to join our<A HREF="https://www.eventbrite.com/publish?crumb=fa989d4bb7a39f&eid=32868078307#" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer noopener noreferrer">Learn to Code for Beginners, 4-Part Series</A>starting on April 12.</STRONG></I>That workshop seriesthat will give you a deeper dive into learning the basics of Ruby and JavaScript and how they work together to create fully functioning websites. </P>
<P><SPAN><I>Please note: You do not have to partake in the Learn to Code for Beginners, 4-Part Series after to take this intro course, this course is also available as a stand-alone workshop to give beginners a peek at programming.</I></SPAN><BR></P>
<P><STRONG>What You'll Need</STRONG><BR></P>
<P>Come prepared with a laptop, charger, and a willingness to ask questions and work with the people around you!</P>
<P><STRONG>Onsite Check-In</STRONG></P>
<P>Check in with the security guard at the entrance of the building, then make your way to the 6th Floor. You will then check-in with a DBC staff on our floor.</P>
<P><I>Note: Doors are open at 6:00 pm and class starts promptly at 6:30 pm</I></P>

<P>We'll be providing snacks, including vegetarian options, and beverages.</P>

<P>Maxwell Mathews</P>
<P>A recent transplant from Rhode Island, Maxwell decided to shake up his career after eight years as a software engineer and project manager for a federal contractor. As a developer, he finds joy in collaboration and helping other engineers achieve their development goals and launch creative projects. WithDevBootcamp Maxwell aims to help students discover the skills and tools they need to fuel their careers. He has a background in C++ and Linux systems administration. When he's not running around DBC, you'll find him building bicycles or singing his heart out.</P>
