Session One (11/13)
Form Design
Forms is how customers 'talk' to companies online. It is how companies create communities, collect data on their users and most important, how purchases are finalized. Proper planning and design may reduce abandonment rates by changing overwhelming form processes to seamless experiences that are easy to follow and complete.
Product Pages & Content Display
Online retail sales have been at a steady growth across all sectors (computer, books, beauty, grocery, toys, etc.). Although technology is getting more advanced and tries to mimic the shopping experience online, there are still fundamental differences in store versus online shopping. The main differences cannot be overcome completely, but well designed pages can help minimize them and help achieve an enjoyable and easy shopping experience.
This seminar will combine usability guidelines and graphic design fundamentals to achieve best in class results.
Session Two (11/15)
User-lefted Information Architecture
Effective information architecture enables people to step logically through a system confident they are getting closer to the information they require. Most people only notice information architecture when it is poorly planned and stops them from finding the information they need. If users can't find your product, they can't buy it! This seminar will go over how to create personas and build a site structure that is both effective and intuitive.
Navigation Design
Navigation is the website 'table of content' and unlike traditional publications where readers can flip through and see how much material there is to read and in what order, one cannot get an immediate sense of the web site's size or complexity until they start to dive in and navigate one page at a time. Creating a navigation system that is both effective and efficient is critical to the success of your site.
This seminar will combine graphic design and usability guidelines and go over some of the do's and don'ts in navigation design.
