About This Event

Learn how to rock your summer internship from the experts! Her Campus members have been offered jobs and internships with Glamour, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Seventeen, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, People, The Huffington Post, Teen Vogue, InStyle, Lucky, Esquire, O magazine, MTV, The Washington Post, Digitas, Ogilvy, and many more. Having a summer internship is key to building your resume, identifying your strengths, and setting yourself up for a post-grad job offer. However, the day to day of intern life is very different from classes, clubs, and coffee dates in the campus center. Learn how to manage your new schedule, hone new skills, impress your supervisor, and even land a job offer in this fun and interactive workshop with the Her Campus co-founders.

This is an interactive live stream, and we encourage you to tweet any questions before and during the live stream by using the hashtag #internFAQ.

Takeaways

Learn what to expect during the first month at your internship: how to prepare, what to wear, how to communicate with and learn from your boss, how to behave at happy hour and other office social events, how to set goals for your internship, etc.

Learn how to transform a sub-par internship into a super-productive experience: how to ask for more responsibility, identify your strengths, learn a new skill, etc.

Learn how to turn your summer internship into a job offer: how to prove you are indispensable, how to network, and how to keep in touch.

She leads creative, technical, and user experience strategy to build products that support and amplify Her Campus's unique offerings while serving its 5.9+ million users in a fresh and cohesive way and oversees the manifestation of the iconic Her Campus brand. In 2010, Annie took a leave of absence from her undergraduate studies at Harvard College to work on Her Campus full time. She was studying visual and environmental studies and psychology, and freelancing as a graphic designer and web developer. In her spare time, Annie enjoys decorating her apartment, playing video games with her husband, trying different types of granola, accumulating gift wrapping supplies, discovering efficiency hacks, and dreaming about hosting a tea party in the apparently never-arriving future.
