Bots are the new apps! They are taking the world by storm across various channels, from popular apps like Slack, Facebook & Skype, to new devices powered by Cortana,Alexa & others. Join us for a brand new session to discuss why you should care about building bots & how you can do so using Node.js & the Microsoft Bot Framework. Rachel White joins us for the first time at MMADNYC for what promises to be a very lively session & discussion.

Breaking into Bots with Node.js

Step into the world of Conversational Bots. Taking over platforms one by one, conversational bots are becoming the newest applications wanted & needed by consumers everyday. If you are wanting to learn how to get into the world of Conversation Bots, this talk is for you. Rachel will take you step by step on how to get your proper tools, building a bot, deploying it to the cloud & how to get it up & running on different platforms. This is an ideal session for those who are familiar with Node.js & would like to apply it to something new.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Rachel White Technical Evangelist, Microsoft

Rachel is currently a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft, but is also a self-taught programmer & occasional artist. She is currently working on multiple video game projects, a VR cat cafe, & thinking about what IoT devices she can build for her two black cats. Her other interests include glitch art, 80s horror, & indie games. Her aesthetic is fog machines, laser lights, & broken VHS tapes.
