Many dye plants are particularly valuable for their color making potential as well as their ability to simultaneously provide natural fixative properties. A mordant is a necessary process for most natural dyers to ensure long lasting & clear color adhesion to the fiber. Learn about the local plants & natural substances that act as their own mordants & how to successfully achieve beautiful natural color without relying on mining activities and chemically processed metal salts.</P> <P>You will walk away with a spectrum of fully naturally dyed swatches. Participants are also encouraged to bring a small to medium garment of natural fiber content (silk, wool, cotton, linen, hemp, etc.) to naturally mordant and dye.</P>
