Project Music is the first tech accelerator in America dedicated to the future of the music business. A passionate team has guided eight startup companies through a 14-week business development and music business bootcamp. In addition to $30,000 in seed funding, each entrepreneurial team received education, encouragement and beneficial connections from key music, technology and startup leaders. All eight startups in the program are building to grow the music industry's revenue. Project Music was developed in partnership with the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and the Country Music Association.

The eight cohort companies represent many different verticals within the music industry. The teams strongly exhibit the community' personality of Nashville's music business by supporting each other in tech development, resources and problem solving. In total >$2M has been raised in support of the cohort.

DART Get Your Music There
We believe that artists have the power to save us from cultural bankruptcy. But how can they do so if they do not even have the ability to get their music into online stores like iTunes, Spotify, GooglePlay, etc? Until DART, classical music in particular has had to pay at least 10 times as much to be able to distribute their music. DART is the first and only distribution platform able to serve all genres of music, including classical. By concentrating on the most complex of music-metadata, DART has not only created the first automated platform to handle all styles of music but has also managed to reduce the number of gatekeepers between the musician and online stores, completely disrupting the entire digital supply chain for all genres for the first time in 11 years.

EARIQ Hear Smarter
Digital compression of audio files like, MP3's, reduces the quality of music and introduces artifacts - or sound imperfections. In addition, every person's hearing is as unique as their fingerprints and continues to degrade over time. The result is that very few of us have ever experienced the full range and quality of recorded or streaming music. Ear.IQ is a patent pending mobile app designed to improve music the way high-definition improves television. First, Ear.IQ improves the sound quality of music by removing any compression artifacts. Second - and most importantly - Ear.IQ guides the listener through a simplified hearing test and then applies a correction algorithm to their unique hearing pattern. The end result is a substantially improved listening experience customized to each individual.

JAMMBER Powering the community that powers music
It is our belief that community and relationships drive, inspire and power creativity. At Jammber we are "powering the community that powers music" by creating a modern and efficient talent marketplace. We are driven by our vision of a world where music creators can easily engage with the necessary team members around the world to create new music experiences, get more of their music to more people and make more money doing so. There are two primary parts to building an effective marketplace: discovery and payment. In Jammber's seed stage, we have developed the technology, acquired the channel partners and created the strategic road-map necessary to earn us the opportunity to be the market leader in this emerging space. By digitizing and democratizing the multi-billion dollar talent marketplace of the music industry, we can truly change the world, create notable wealth and have a lot fun doing it.

KARAOQ A truly social music experience
The karaoke industry globally is a $14.5B industry yet it is behind the times. The process to search through an outdated printed catalog of music, sign up on paper, walk it to the DJ, and then wait for your turn in the queue is not only manual, but also frustrating and slow. Furthermore, patrons and performers don't know know where they are in the queue and have no way to advance to sing sooner. karaoQ is a mobile app and platform that offers the ability to instantly check-in to a karaoQ-enabled venue, browse their digital songbook via your smartphone and instantly sign up and hit the queue. They cannot only see their place in line, but they can also pay to advance their position (or anyone else in the venue) with the +BUMP feature. With built-in capability for queue management and PUSH notifications for the DJ and venue, as well as mobile tips and drink ordering, we're creating new engagement, loyalty incentive and revenue streams for the venue and DJ, creating a truly social music experience.

EVAMORE The smart, streamlined way to book live entertainment
There's currently no user-friendly way for individuals to book live entertainment. There are so many complicated steps involved that most people simply give up. First, you have to find an artist who seems to fit your event. Confirm availability. Negotiate pricing, sign contracts, agree on pricing, make a down payment, make sure the artist actually appears on timeand then cross your fingers. EVAmore dramatically streamlines the process to the point where it's essentially automated. Our smart technology platform lets you connect with the right artist, then book your event instantly. It's safe, secure and remarkably hassle-free. We serve as a resource for people who don't have connections to booking agents, while providing a valuable feeder system to bring quality up-and-coming artists to the booking agents.

REMIX HITS Evolution of Music Creation
The sound sampling culture is revolutionizing the way music is produced and consumed. Millions of "DJ's" and music producers have been building immense personal brands around creating remixes and derivative versions of major-label artist works. The issue is: no company currently provides licensed, isolated, instrumental tracks of hit songs that music producers need to create their new works, driving them to obtain unlicensed hit tracks from the internet. In fact, an estimated $1.4 billion is lost by the music industry every year since there is no current solution to monetize isolated instrumental tracks. Remix Hits is introducing the (Hits)trument: the virtual instrument that turns hit songs into software. (Hits)trument streamlines and - best of all - monetizes the remix sampling culture by selling isolated stems and samples from hit songs to remixers and then provides an intelligent licensing system to pay royalties to the rights' holders and content creators.

ON THE LIST Enhance any event experience on demand
At On The List we're passionate about the live event experience. Enhancing it for every fan is our core mission. Because of our backgrounds in producing live events, we understand the challenges of effectively engaging fans and capitalizing on the array of amenities that fans have come to demand. Fortunately, new technologies have made it possible to engage fans directly, collect valuable data and transact business in ways never previously possible. With On The List, event creators, artists and fans enjoy the ideal user experience they have come to expect from popular transportation and hospitality applications alike. We've built a platform that empowers artists and their business partners to create custom upgrades, or perks, which they can sell to fans at any time before, during or after an event. Using our mobile app as a digital credential, fans easily redeem perks, and communicate with event staff to streamline the live event experience. Artists' representatives can also send push notifications with perk offers to fans at the show, allowing them to instantly buy upgrades and merchandise.

VIDEOBOMB You're the bomb!
Fans want to be close to the artists they love. Fans love making videos with their favorite songs. Over 3,000 hours of fan-content is uploaded to the internet every 10 minutes. Youtube is the #1 source for consuming music on the web, but currently, there is no simple, elegant and legal way for fans to merge their videos with an artist's official music video. VideoBomb gives fans the ability to embed their personal videos into their favorite artists' music videos. The platform literally puts the filming and editing power in hands of the fans via an iOS and Android app while providing legal access to artists' hit videos. By offering record labels an additional avenue to create revenue with existing content and increase fan engagement, VideoBomb has developed partnerships to secure major label content.

SPONSORS
Program Sponsors contributed $145,000 to the operations of Project Music along with $10,000 of services to each of the eight Project Music startups. The lead sponsor, the Country Music Association, represents approximately 3000 global music industry professionals. Additional sponsors are providing expertise in tech, branding, finance, accounting, banking, IP law, risk management, music business retail and publishing.

INVESTORS
Project Music investors include the largest music booking agency in the world (CAA), three of the largest, most connected artist managers in the U.S. (Red Light, Spalding/Maverick, Vector), one of music's premiere labels (Universal Music), Nashville's leading dev company (Dev Digital), a large hospitality company that owns music venues (Ryman), one of the key project music founders (Joe Galante) and a venture capital and advisory firm headquartered in New York City (DEV).
