Description
Learn to design pages, format text, and create effects with the latest and most powerful Cascading Style Sheet tool: CSS3.
By the end of class you will have designed page layouts;applied effects like transparency, rounded-corner boxes and drop-shadows; activated transforms like rotation and skewing – techniques that used to require graphics but are now available with CSS! We'll also explore a bit of interactivity and animation to make page elements scale, rotate and skew.
This class builds on the techniques introduced in the Intro to Web Design: HTML/CSS and Web Design With Creative Suite classes. Neither are required to take this course, but students should be comfortable structuring web pages with HTML and defining tag, class and ID selectors in CSS.
This class will take place in our Media Lab, equipped with fully-loaded iMac design workstations. Basic Macintosh computer literacy is required for this course.
