Network & communications infrastructures play multiple roles in our lives everyday, some of which we are consciously manipulating while others are hidden from sight. The data traveling through these systems tell compelling stories if you know how to look for them. They also often reflect systemic biases & prejudices that are prevalent in society.
In this talk we will do an open overview of the technical landscape & go through real world examples of how infrastructure can be used as a journalistic source & also as source material for creative projects.
