Description

Please join me for the first screening of The Cola Road, my NYU Master's thesis documentary. Shot over 5 weeks in Zambia, edited over the last four months, and generously funded by a crowd of Indiegogo supporters.

This screening is a part of the NYU NewsDoc 2013 film festival. There will be a Q&A following each film. Cocktails will be served during a reception from 6PM-8PM.

About The Cola Road:

For years, it has baffled visitors to developing countries: Coca-Cola is everywhere, but basic medicines are not. This year, Zambia has become the first African country to embrace ColaLife, an innovative team of social entrepreneurs that aims to use Coca-Cola's distribution model to deliver life-saving medicines to farflung, rural communities. Follow ColaLife on the road as they attempt to launch the system for the first time. (running time: 40 mins)

About the director:

Claire Ward is a Canadian writer and documentary producer living in New York. She will be completing her Master's in journalism (News & Documentary) from NYU in 2013. She wrote about her experiences in Zambia for Maclean's here.
