Join General Assembly and Teach For America New York for an event for tech professionals to meet, mingle, and explore how you might be able to support each other - in improving your practice, developing new skills and creating new opportunities for students. You'll also have the opportunity to chat about some of the unique challenges of teaching technical topics.
This year, over 1/4 of alumni and corps member teachers will be teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects in schools across NYC. For the 2nd year in a row, Teach For America New York has a cohort of corps members teaching computer science, funded through the National Science Foundation. The number of edtech ventures and programs started by NYC alumni is growing quickly. No matter where you look, STEM education and career readiness are HOT HOT HOT in New York City.
