THE TEAMS:

Ancera: Ancera, Inc. is developing equipment for high speed sorting, separation and concentration of cells from fluid samples such as serum or urine, using Yale-patented technology developed by Hur Koser, former associate professor at Yale University, working together with Yale entrepreneur Arjun Ganesan. There are applications in medical research, diagnostics and food industries.

GestVision: GestVision, Inc. is developing and commercializing the GestAssured test for diagnosing preeclampsia. Preeclampsia impacts one in 12 pregnancies in the U.S. and puts tens of thousands of pregnant women and their unborn children at risk of death or serious health complications each year. The GestAssured test relies on patented Yale research. Wendy Davis, who holds an MBA from Yale and was formerly VP of intellectual property at HistoRX, is GestVision's CEO.

Rally Bus: Rally Bus provides crowd-sourced, on-demand bus travel to everything from college football games to concerts and NASCAR races. The company is currently in discussion with the National Football League to provide transportation to and from the Superbowl and are about to close on their 60,000th registration. The startup is led by Numaan Akram and Siheun Song (YC '15).

109 Design: 109 Design has designed a device that tracks the wear-time and tightness levels of scoliosis braces to improve brace compliance and prevent surgeries as well as a related app. The data provided by the device will for the first time allow doctors to respond and customize treatment to each patient and allow parents and patients to track their progress. The startup was cofounded by Yale undergrads Levi DeLuke, Sebastian Monzon and Ellen Su and was named one of Inc.'s 50 Emerging Global Entrepreneurs to Watch and one of the 11 Best Spine Technologies of 2014 by Spine Magazine.

Mental Canvas: The computer graphics startup Mental Canvas has developed a platform that allows users to turn a drawing or sketch into a new graphical media type that sits between a drawing and a 3D model. The patent-pending technology has applications from advertising and architecture to filmmaking and was created by Yale Computer Science Professor Julie Dorsey.
