We're excited to host Holly Hetherington of Airbnb for a talk on her experience of promoting belonging through content strategy, followed by a Q&A session - come prepared with questions!
Make room for belonging: Using content strategy to create inclusive, thoughtful experiences.
At a place like Airbnb, which promotes belonging as core to its mission, its important to account for the many different kinds of people who use their platform. In recent work here & at Facebook, Holly has had the opportunity to work on some tricky experiences, like anti-discrimination & suicide prevention. She'll talk about her content strategy approach, how she advocated for inclusive, thoughtful experiences, & what she learned along the way. You'll get insight on:
Addressing tough situations, even if you haven't gone through something similar
Developing UI that feels relevant, empathetic & supportive
Making uncomfortable or painful experiences just a little bit better.
