The 2014 Design and Development Symposium - "Making Cities3: Innovation, Incubation, Inclusion" -is part of a three year research project between the Chulalongkorn University, University of Buenos Aires and The New School.

The September 22 symposium runs from 10 am - 6 pm and will feature the presence of professors and students of FADU and FSOC, UBA, Chulalongkorn University and The New School. While the previous seminar in Buenos Aires in May 2013 focused heavily on issues of inclusion/exclusion, the upcoming symposium in New York City hopes to extend our study to the productive side of the urban economy.

In order to better understand the complex dynamics of the maker economy within cities, and the areas of convergence between design and the social sciences, we will explore three central themes: innovation, incubation and inclusion.

The symposium will conclude with a Deans' Panel on September 24, 10 am - 12 pm, also held in the same venue.
