Contributing to open source software projects is a great way to build your career and skills as a web developers. It's also a chance to learn new languages and frameworks, make an impact on a project or issue that is important to you, and build your network and reputation as a developer. However, for open source newbies getting started can feel intimidating.

Join Hacker Hours organizer Aidan Feldman and Tute Costa, as well as Dev Bootcamp instructor Dan Jensen for a beginner-friendly demonstration and chance to get your open source questions answered!

This workshop will address the following:
What is open source?
Why should I contribute to it? How is it beneficial to my career?
Where should I go to get started and find out about projects to contribute to?
How do I get help?
Can someone who has just graduated from coding bootcamp, or is new to coding, contribute?
How do I select an open source project?

It is organized for those who have recently graduated from coding bootcamp or who are new to open source, but open to all!
