Description
We've all heard the fairy tales -- get a plug by Oprah or land a segment on the Today Show, and your business skyrockets. But how do companies really get media coverage?

Rod Kurtz, a longtime journalist and advocate for entrepreneurs, pulls back the curtain on what the media really look for, how to best tell your story, and what you can do to use media coverage to your advantage.   This all-star panel includes:

Colleen DeBaise, Special Projects Director for Entrepreneur.com and author ofThe Wall Street Journal Complete Small Business Guidebook, who has reported on a variety of issues facing small-business owners, and is a regular guest on MSNBC, Fox Business Network, CNBC, CBS and NPR.

Marissa Feinberg, Green Spaces cofounder, Forbes blogger, publicist and Do It Yourself PR for Startups speaker, will weigh in. Marissa has experience launching startups, new organizations and representing change makers to the media in-house and at PR firms.

Billy Leroy, owner of Billy's Antiques & Props and star of 'Baggage Battles' on Travel Channel. Charismatic, well-known and well-respected in his field, Billy and his unique brand have become very visible in the media world. Want to know how to perform in front of the camera? Billy's your guy.   Olga Vidisheva, Founder of Shoptiques, an online shopping community that is changing the way people shop local, bringing brick-and-mortar boutique shopping to the Web. Olga has leveraged her own unique story, and that of Shoptiques, into countless profiles and interviews, on CNBC, Bloomberg Television, and beyond.

Kurtz, Editor-at-Large of OPEN Forum and a regular contributor to CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times and Entrepreneur, among others, will bring together this lively, interactive roundtable of journalists and entrepreneurs who have found success in print, on air, and online. If there's anything you've ever wondered about the media but were afraid to ask -- now's your chance. RSVP here.   Special thanks to VeeV.
