Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software that awards a limited edition T-shirt to participants who open four pull requests (PRs) during the month of October. Hacktoberfestencourages people to contribute to GitHub-hosted open source projects, whether by fixing bugs, creating new features, or updating and writing documentation, throughout the month of October. Contributors can be developers and non-developers. Quality contributions often come from people whom are significantly affected by finding a solution, and yet the whole community reaps the benefits.

Join DigitalOcean & GitHub, the creators of Hacktoberfest, on Thursday, October 27th, for a night of learning about and sharing open source projects, engaging with the NYC open source community, and ending with some hacking!
