Talks:

Annyce Davis, TheSimple Art of Creating Gradle Plugins
>> If you find yourself copying and pasting code from your build.gradle file every time you start a new project, then it's time you learn what it takes to create a custom Gradle plugin for use in your Android applications.
-->> Annyce works as a Senior Software Engineer at The Washington Post. She has spent the past 4 years developing applications for the Android ecosystem across multiple form factors. She is also a national conference speaker and author, sharing her knowledge of Android development with others. In addition, Annyce is active in the Washington, DC tech scene and assists with running a local meetup focused on Android development and design.

Ben Oberkfell, Using Androids Sync Framework
>>If your users often commute via subway or wake up first thing in the morning to open your app and read their feeds, you can use Androids sync framework to improve their experience. Well walk through a simple open source example project to show how you can use sync adapters to make your app feel more responsive and behave better when phones go offline.
-->> Ben Oberkfell is an Android engineer at American Express, where he works on the core mobile app for US Card Members. Previously Ben built Android business software for Jive Software, and used to work in cancer research before discovering mobile. Ben is also the co-organizer for the St Louis chapter of the Google Developers Group.

Lisa Wray, Data Binding
>> A tour through the data binding framework's obvious and not-so-obvious perks. Reduce boilerplate, avoid NullPointerExceptions, decrease code complexity, and maybe even fix some Android pet peeves!
-->> Lisa Wray iscurrently a one-woman Android team at Genius, the world's largest repository of musical knowledge. Previously, she was a mobile developer at the New York Times and a developer advocate for Android and wearables at Google. She has a B.S. in Computer Science and Music from M.I.T.

Thank you to our sponsor, The American Express Company, and David, Rod and Ben for coordinating with us again.
