We are excited to have repeat R Conference presenter, Max Kuhn, creator of the caret package, for the February meetup.
Thank you toeBay NYCfor hosting.
About the Talk:
R has an excellent framework for specifying models using formulas. While elegant and useful, it was designed in a time when models had small numbers of terms. As such, it has some limitations. In this talk, the good parts of the formula are shown as well as some of the limitations. Finally, an upcoming tidyverse package is shown that can be used when the formula method cannot easily handle the needs of the data and/or analysis.
About Max:
Max is the author or maintainer of nine R packages, including caret, and is the author of the Springer book Applied Predictive Modeling. He has a Ph.D. in Biostatistics and recently joined the RStudio team.
Pizzabegins at 6:30, the talk starts at 7, then after we head to the local bar.
