BDPA is a global, member focused organization that positions its members at the forefront of the Information Technology industry. The New Jersey Chapter, now 501c3, was established in 1981.
Event Purpose:
We have been hosting this event for the last 13 years. The mission of BDPA-NJ, in alignment with that of the National BDPA Board, is to sustain a network of Information Technology professionals to maintain a positive influence in industry, education and the community.

For Students (Grades 4-12) Accompanied By Their Parents/Guardians
REFURBISHED LAPTOPS/TABLETS will be raffled to students who submit a paragraph on how they can benefit from the use of a laptop.Paragraph must consist of a minimum of 4-5 sentences (include your name, grade level and address). Originality, sincerity and good grammar are important. Paragraphs will be accepted until 9/29/17 or until the tickets are sold out, whichever comes first. Raffle will take place on 9/30/17.You MUST be present to win.
 Registration Rules: Paragraphs should be submitted through thissite. Each registration should have at least one student per registration. Parent/Guardian MUST register to attend the event. Ifbringing multiple students, parent/guardian ONLY needs to registeronce with the first studentand include total number of general admission tickets needed for additional family members (including themself excluding additional registered students). PLEASE PRINT OUT YOUR REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION AND BRING IT WITH YOU FOR EVENT CHECK-IN ALONGRegistrations will NOT be accepted at the door. All registrations MUST be submitted online via this site.

FAMILIES IN TECHNOLOGY DAY - FAQs
Q: Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
A: Yes Parents must have valid ID to enter Rutgers Facilities 
Q: What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? 
A: There are no special parking arrangements for this event. Please find parking near the event location. 
Q: Is my registration/ticket transferrable? 
A: No - Registered participants cannot transfer their tickets to other people. 
Q: Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? 
A: Yes - you must PRINT and bring your ticket + valid ID to enter the event.
Q: Is there a cost to attending this event? Is it refundable?
A: No Admission is free to parents and students from Grades 4-12. However the refurbished laptop\tablet raffle requires students submit an essay online to be eligible to participate in the raffle. Any student who has NOT submitted an essay online will NOT participate in the refurbished laptop\tablet raffle.
Q: How can I get my student registered?
A: All registrations for the FIT event should be done through our online registration process. Your registration should include the parent/guardian andstudent registering for the raffle, and any other additional attendees you are bringing to the event. If more than one student registering for the raffle each additional student must complete a separate registration. PRINT YOUR TICKETS!
Q: What information needs to be completed during online registration?
A: Students need to fill out the following: First name, last name, home phone #, email and home addresses, gender, age, current grade level, and submit paragraph (essay) for raffle. Parent/Guardiansneed to include their name as well.
Q: Can I drop my child off for the event?
A: No. Students must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian for the entire event.
Q: We have attended in the past and it was $5.00. Why is the event FREE this year?
A: We are NOT charging admission fees this year due to proper funding from sponsors. Every year our sponsorship funding varies.
Q: What time do I need to check-in the day of the event and do I need to bring anything?
A: Event check-in will start at 9:00AM on 9/30/2017. You will need to bring the email confirmation you received during your online registration as well as a valid ID. PRINT YOUR TICKET. HAVE PHOTO ID.
Q: Are the workshops open only to the students and is workshop attendance required?
A: No. Our workshops are designed for both students and parents on a wide range of topics. There will be a complete listing of all workshops in the program you receivewhen checking in the day of the event. Students MUST attend 2 workshops in order to remain eligible for the raffle drawing.
Q: Are all students eligible to enter the refurbished Laptop\Tablet raffle?
A: No. The raffle is only open to those students in grades 4-12 and submit an essay online via the online registration process. College students are NOT eligible.
Q: If I have more than one student, can they both register for the raffle?
A: Yes. More than one student per household can register howeverthere can only be 1 winner per household.
Q: If my student won the raffle last year, are they eligible to register and win at this years event?
A: No. Any students that have won in the past3 years are not eligible to participate in the raffle.
Q: As a parent/guardian, do I still need to register even though Im NOT eligible for the raffle?
A: Yes. All parents/guardians need to register for the total number of tickets needed for all those attending. Each registration should include at least one parent/guardian, any studentparticipating in the raffle, and also any children not participating in the raffle that will be attending. 
Q: Will my child get a refurbished laptop or tablet for certain?
A: No. Every student who enters the raffle will NOT receive a refurbished Laptops\Tablets. We are conducting a raffle to distribute refurbished Laptops\Tablets to students who follow the eligibility rules. Students will be given tickets that are drawn at random. Note: There are limited amounts of refurbished Laptops\Tablets. (Example: If our inventory quantity = 5 refurbished laptops\tablets. Through the raffle process only 5 students will receive a refurbished laptop\tablet).
Q: If I register for the raffle but cannot attend, can I still win and be awarded a refurbished laptop/tablet?
A: No. All winners MUST be present the day of the event to receive the refurbished laptop\tablet.
