Law to Tech Breakfast Panel Friday, February 22, 2013 from 8:30 am - 10 am
Ready to leave the law for good? Do you have a desire to start your own company or work for a technology company in a non-legal capacity? Join us for an informal panel featuring lawyers who have successfully made the leap into the startup world! Panelists will discuss how they came up with their business ideas and how they were able to finally walk away from the stable pay check in favor of a life of ups and downs as a founder or team member of a startup!
Bagels and coffee will be served!
This panel will be moderated by Vinay Jain, Legal Counsel/ Business Development at Flavorpill.
Antonia Abrahams
Antonia Abrahams started her legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. She is the co-founder of a startup called ZipGigs and then worked at Betaworks as their Director of Finance & Operations. She recently joined Chartbeat, one of Betawork's portfolio companies, as their VP of Finance and Operations.
Michael Horn
Mike is the founder/CEO of Craft Coffee, the world's leading coffee subscription service. After deciding that salaries were over-rated, Mike quit his job, taught himself to code in Ruby on Rails, and got to work building companies. He began his career in corporate finance at Cahill, Gordon & Reindel.
Veronica Picciafuoco
Veronica Picciafuoco is the Director of Content, Partnerships & Community at Docracy. Previously, she worked at several law firms, including Allen & Overy, where she focued on M&A.
Ben Rossen
Ben Rossen is the co-founder of Smallknot, a crowdfunding platform that recently graduated from Techstars. Previously, Ben was an associate at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler and Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
Isaac Tilton
Isaac Tilton recently launched his own startup called LegalSha.re, a digital marketplace for lawyers to buy and sell legal documents. He was previously an attorney at Itkowitz PLLC.
