EVENT DETAILS |
Bloomberg, Cornell Tech, & Tech:NYC invite you to join us for the latest installment of the CornellTech@Bloomberg series, an exclusive screening of GENERATION STARTUP, a powerful film that follows six recent college graduates as they put everything on the line to build startups in Detroit. Shot over 17 months, it's an honest, in-the-trenches look at what it really takes to launch a startup.
Directed by Academy Award winner Cynthia Wade & award-winning filmmaker Cheryl Miller Houser, the film celebrates risk-taking, urban revitalization, & diversity while delivering a vital call-to-action - with entrepreneurship at a record low, the country's economic future is at stake.
The young men & women of GENERATION STARTUP are part of Venture For America (VFA), a program that sends recent college graduates to work at startups in 18 cities around the country to train as entrepreneurs, & then helps them launch their own companies.
Following the screening, guests will have the opportunity to hear from three people featured in GENERATION STARTUP: Andrew Yang, Founder & CEO of Venture for America, Labib Rahman, Product Manager at IPC Systems & Kate Catlin, Founder of Flock. Opening remarks to be given by Cheryl Houser, Producer & Co-Director of the film.
