Adam Spence has been Senior Vice President of START-UP NY, a new economic development initiative since March 2014, appointed by New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. Mr. Spence served as a Managing Director of Sponsor Finance at American Capital Ltd. until March 2014. Prior to American Capital, Mr. Spence served as the Principal and Senior Vice President at American Capital since joining in June 2001. He served with Lend Lease Real Estate Investments focusing on makingequity investments in real estate development projects located in low-moderate income census tracts. Prior to Lend Lease, he served at Berkshire Capital Corporation. Mr. Spence serves on the Board of Escort Inc. since 2009, LTM Enterprises, Inc, since 2009, Potpourri Group, Inc. since 2005, American Driveline Systems, Inc. since 2005, and Specialty Brands of America since 2003. He received an A.B. in History from Harvard College in 1997.

Eva Cramer, PhD, is a Distinguished Service Professor of Cell Biology and V.P. for Biotechnology and Scientific Affairs at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She helped raise over $90 million to develop two facilities - an Advanced Biotechnology Incubator for startups, and BioBAT at the Brooklyn Army Terminal for more mature biotech companies. She is President of both organizations, which are run independently.
