Bootcamp Prepis for any student who's interested in applying to an elite coding bootcamp -- like theSoftware Engineering Immersiveprogram at Fullstack Academy -- & wants to learn the programming skills needed to pass the coding assessment & technical interview.

What is the Admissions Process like for Bootcamp Prep?

Fullstack Academy's Bootcamp Prep has a light admissions process. Although the course is designed for beginners, the curriculum starts with the assumption that students have basic familiarity with JavaScript syntax. This allows the class to move at a pace which yields quality outcomes for students.

There are 2 components of admissions for Bootcamp Prep:

Several short application questions (completed when submitting a deposit)

A short Coding Admissions Assessment (completed after submitting the deposit)

The Bootcamp Prep Admissions Assessment is comprised of easy level questions on topics such as Strings, Arrays, & Loops. Completing the Codecademy JavaScript track is likely enough preparation, although participating in a video-based course like JavaScript Jumpstart is even more effective. When you submit your deposit for Bootcamp Prep, you get access to JavaScript Jumpstart. We stress that you complete this workshop prior to completing the admissions test.

Admissions Process

Submit a $450 deposit, along with admissions questions, in order to reserve a spot in your desired Bootcamp Prep cohort.

After submitting the deposit, youre invited to the admissions test & given 1 week to complete it. Youll also get access to JavaScript Jumpstart Online (typically takes 10-12 hours to complete), which is very effective preparation for the test.

After you take the assessment, Fullstack will get back to you in a few days to inform you of your assessment performance.

If you pass the test & are accepted, your spot in Bootcamp Prep will be confirmed & you will be ready to start class on Day 1.

If you do not pass the test, you will have the option to defer to the next Bootcamp Prep cohort (free of charge), or you can choose to receive a full refund of your deposit.

If you have any questions about this process, please emailadmissions@fullstackacademy.com.

What are the pre-requisites for this course?

While this course is designed for beginners, we do expect that you have learned the basic fundamentals of JavaScript such as variables, loops & functions before coming to class. In case you haven't, we'll give you free access to our "zero-experience" beginner course,JavaScript Jumpstart Online. You'll receive free access to this course in the confirmation email you receive when you register forBootcamp Prep.

When do we meet?

Schedule:Mon-Thu Evenings | 6:40PM 9:40PM

Note: Some classes may need to be rescheduled due to holidays (e.g. President's Day, Memorial Day)

What is the curriculum?

As a student inBootcamp Prep, youll be taught by professional software engineers with many years of experience.

Youll come to our NYC campus 4 nights a week, for 4 consecutive weeks. There is also remote work to be completed on the off-nights. The class is a mix of instruction followed by practical workshops designed to solidify your understanding of each concept.

You'll develop core programming skills & use them to solve various coding challenges. In week 4, you'll work on a project that pulls together everything you've learned. The goal of the project is to provide context on how JavaScript is used in a practical application.

During the four weeks, you'll learn the fundamentals of programming in JavaScript, including:

Nested loopsNested conditional statementsTest specs (Jasmine)ObjectsAPIsJSONHow the web worksThe call stackRecursionFunctionsScopeHow to master coding challengesThere is a total of 60 hours of classroom work delivered over 16 classes.

What is the tuition?

Tuition for this course is $650. An initial deposit of $450 is required to reserve your spot in this cohort. The remainder of the tuition is paid on the first day of class. We accept all major credit cards & checks.

Should you be accepted to one of Fullstack Academy's Immersive programs after Bootcamp prep, any tuition you pay will "rollover" & be applied towards further tuition expenses, essentially making Bootcamp Prep free.

Does completing Bootcamp Prep guarantee me a spot in the immersive program at Fullstack Academy or Grace Hopper?

Although this courseprepares you for the Fullstack admissions process, completion of the course does not guarantee acceptance to our immersive program. You will still need to complete the same coding assessment & interview process as all other Fullstack applicants.

What do I need to bring?

Students must bring a functioning laptop to class. Macs are preferred, however Windows machines are acceptable. You will also need to complete roughly 10 hours of pre-work before the first day of class.
