<P STYLE="line-height: 20px; text-align: center; border: 0px; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Regular, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0px 0px 18px; padding: 0px; color: #636b75;">Chitra Narasimhan joined Citi Ventures in January 2012 as part of the Incubation team based in NY. She is responsible for leading new innovation initiatives in partnership with Citi businesses. Her areas of focus include customer service, digital engagement and commerce and payments.
<P STYLE="line-height: 20px; text-align: center; border: 0px; font-family: HelveticaNeue-Regular, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0px 0px 18px; padding: 0px; color: #636b75;">Chitra joined Citi from American Express, where she was most recently Senior Vice President and head of Strategy for the Enterprise Growth Division. In shaping the strategy for this new division, her primary focus was to identify innovations, technologies, and business models that are most relevant to online and mobile payments as well as digital commerce. Previously Chitra was a senior member of the Corporate Development group responsible for all types of M&A activities, including acquisitions, investments, joint ventures and divestitures globally across the Company. She completed a number of large strategic transactions including the sale of American Express Bank, the investment in Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), and the spin-off of American Express Financial Advisors. Chitra was also instrumental in establishing and building the first Corporate Development team at American Express.

She serves on the Board of Bottomline, which supports low income NYC students to get in and through college. She is also a member of the Well, which supports the operations of Charity Water, an organization that brings clean water wells to global communities. Chitra graduated from Dartmouth College and has an MBA from Columbia University. She lives with her husband and three children in Scarsdale, NY.

The Young Founders Seriesseeks to provide education and training to young and first time entrepreneurs in the New York area. Starting a company is hard work, and founders with a strong vision but limited operatingexperience encounter unique challenges. How can I be an effective 20 or 30-something executive? Should I hire this person or that one? What does branding even mean? How do I build a company culture? How do I convincepeople twice my age to invest in my company? Through a curated series of evening workshops, panels and discussion events, the Young Founder Series aims to empower Millennial entrepreneurs with the key skills required tocompete and succeed.
