EVENT DETAILS
We're happy to announce that WordCamp NYC is officially on the calendar for October 21st & 22nd at Convene.

This year we are holding WordCamp NYC at Convene, located at 117 West 46th Street in Midtown Manhattan. A large venue that can fit over 500, but much more intimate than your standard convention center. This full-service event facility is the ideal location for those who want to feel comfortable at their venue & enjoy everything Manhattan has to offer at the same time. The space is also very appealing to the eye, giving a sense of sophistication to the atmosphere as well. We all hope you enjoy this venue as much as we do!

WHAT IS WORDCAMP?

WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress, the free & open source personal publishing software that powers over 75 million sites on the web.

Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, & get to know each other. At a WordCamp you will learn about how to use WordPress & create awesome content & sites for the web, but that's not all. You will also be able to network with other designers, developers, business owners, freelancers, bloggers & more. It's an event where you can learn, connect, & have fun!

WordCamps come in all different flavors, based on the local communities that produce them, but in general, WordCamps include sessions on how to use WordPress more effectively, beginning plugin & theme development, advanced techniques, security, etc. To get an idea of the types of sessions typically seen at WordCamps, check out the WordCamp channel at WordPress.tv.

The first WordCamp was organized in San Francisco by Matt Mullenweg in 2006. Since then, local communities around the world have organized over three hundred WordCamps, & we anticipate that number will pass a thousand within the next couple of years.
