Maslow wrote that The concept of creativeness and the concept of the healthy, self-actualizing, fully-human person may perhaps turn out to be the same thing. Creativity occurs at the intersection of the novel and the useful, and is a key part of our daily lives, whether at work, at leisure, alone, or with others. To upgrade our creative capacities is to enhance our very selves, and this in turn unlocks increasingly greater potential to make meaningful contributions in every aspect of life. Being creative enables us to put a personal stamp on whatever we do. Its in the tacit understandings that make our relationships unique, in the value-added for which we are paid and recognized professionally, and in the changes (great and small!) that we make in the world around us.

In this course, you will learn tools and techniques that will highlight and develop your unique capabilities so that you can be more creative throughout your life. Each tool and technique will show you how to harness your set of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experiences to bring both novelty and usefulness to your personal and professional lives. There will be multiple opportunities throughout this class to personalize your learning and apply the concepts to your specific areas of growth.
