<P><STRONG>What is Ruby On Rails:</STRONG></P>
<P>Ruby on Rails is a popular server-side web application framework written in Ruby. It combines the Ruby programming language with HTML, CSS, & Javascript to create a web application that runs on a web server. Ruby on Rails powers many large websites including Shopify, AirBnb, Kickstarter & Groupon.</P>

<P><SPAN><SPAN>This workshop will give you a basic introduction to the Ruby programming language & the Rails framework, & will cover the following:</SPAN></SPAN></P>

<P><STRONG>About the Instructors:</STRONG></P>
<P>Instructor: Tamara Jordan</P>
<P>Tamara studied Anthropology at NYU & moved out to the Bay Area after graduation. She joined an ed-tech startup, moving from executive assistant into QA & product, then worked as an account manager at Square. She began learning programming on the side using textbooks & online classes, & is currently a web developer at MasterClass.<BR></P>

<P>Instructor: Nimitha Ramesh</P>
<P>Nimitha is currently a web developer at MasterClass, previously a software engineer intern at Trimian. She studied computer science at SFSU. Nimitha is a techie at heart who loves building user focused products. Besides coding, she enjoys activities like cooking, ice-skating, kayaking. Her favorite programming language is Java & has recently started learning React on Ruby/Rails.</P>
