Description

Being a (Non-Tech) Founder: Contributing without Coding

Tuesday, December 4th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Zach Goodman, Entrepreneur

Founding a startup is like putting together a puzzle with no picture on the box and all the pieces fit together in 1000 wrong ways for every right one. There are dozens of questions to answer before even thinking about coding a piece of software: Why this? Why now? Why you? In this class for first-time founders, the instructor will step through how he answered those questions en route to remaking himself from writer to tech entrepreneur. You will learn how to approach the non-tech responsibilities of being a founder and how to contribute to a tech company without writing code, focusing on product development and market fit. The class will then put those skills to the test with a group consulting session for a startup chosen from class. The instructor warns you that these are only his opinions and you should be skeptical of him, yourself, and everyone else, but he will make up for that by showing funny pictures.

Zach Goodman is a marketing copywriter turned UX designer turned product lead turned entrepreneur. He has most recently been in charge of a large tech project in Newark, NJ. Zach has also founded a startup, Unlockable, in which he has made every possible mistake, including spending a $20,000 investment on building a prototype that completely bombed.
