Hear from leading health tech and skin health experts and start designing solutions to the most important challenges we face in skin health, today and in the future. The Skin Health Digital Design Collaboratory is your head start to compete in the 2017 SHIELD Hackathon.

1. Skin Health Literacy

Life-long skin maintenance, nourishment, and enhancement lead to good skin health and general wellness across your lifetime. The goal for everyone should be life-long skin health.

The challenge: We need solutions to engage, educate, and empower individuals and communities to pursue a lifetime of healthy skin.

2. Nutrition and Skin Health

While we have long understood that there is a relationship between good nutrition and our health, we are still learning exactly how nutrition affects the overall health of our skin.

The challenge: We need solutions to better understand the relationship between food and skin health.

3. Engaging Acne

Most of us have had or will have acne at some point in our lives. In fact, the American Academy of Dermatology reports that 85% of all young adults experience at least minor acne.

The challenge: We need solutions that empower individuals to live well and own acne.

4. Skin HealthTech for the Aging Population

By 2020, the global population over 60 will reach 1 billion! Technology is playing a vital role for older adults and their caregivers.

The challenge: We need solutions that close the gaps in skin health and affordable in-home skin care for older adults.
