Presenters:
Dheerja Kaur, Head of Product, theSkimm
Dheerja Kaur is Head of Product at theSkimm, one of the fastest-growing startups in New York. They've redefined the morning routine by delivering news and information with a distinctive voice and have built an audience of over 3.5 million daily subscribers. theSkimm recently launched a new product on iOS, Skimm Ahead, that makes it easier to be smarter about the future by integrating directly into your calendar.
Prior to theSkimm, Dheerja was the product lead for the ESPN.com responsive redesign, launched in April 2015. She led a large, cross-functional team to reimagine the entire ESPN web experience. Before that, Dheerja was a Developer and Product Manager for ESPN Mobile and ESPN.com. She built core APIs that power all digital products, worked on some of ESPN's flagship iOS and Android apps, and collaborated with editors to build great content experiences.
Dheerja graduated from Columbia University's engineering school. She was born a sports fan and spends her free time despairing about the Jets and US national soccer team, her only consolation being her numerous fantasy football championships. You'll find her in Brooklyn when she's not backpacking around the world!
Sam Williams,Senior Software Engineer, Quartz
Sam Williams (@stimply) is Quartz's Senior Software Engineer and is obsessed with rethinking journalism, working with data and making cool things at Quartz. He was previously at Macmillan Publishers where he worked on various digital products, primarily focused on higher education learning. He also has an unhealthy obsession with bitcoin and multi-color LED lightbulbs.
Nathan Bashaw,Co-Founder and CEO, Hardbound
Nathan Bashaw is the co-founder and CEO of Hardbound, a new format of visual storytelling that's designed for phones. Before this, he co-created Product Hunt, and General Assembly's Dash, which has taught over 300k people how to code.
