Hey hardwarians,
What better way to start the new year than coming to a hardware startup meetup? We'll have some stellar startups pitching you their new goods and products. Ben Einstein will tell us about Bolt, a new "accelerator type" resource for hardware startups in Boston. Alex Hawkinson, who comes from raising an impressive $3M seed round, will be pitching Smart Things and their Developer and Maker competition. Britta Riley will be pitching WindowFarms, a startup taking hydroponics to the next coolness level - they've just come from a successful Kickstarter campaign. And lastly, have you ever thought of 3D printing a house? Then listen up for DSHAPE, a rather large concrete 3D printer coming our way pretty soon.
Agenda:
6:30 - 7:00: welcome, pizza and beer
7:00 - 7:25: Ben Einstein, founder of Bolt, a new hardware incubator in Boston
7:25 - 7:45: Alex Hawkinson, founder of Smart Things
7:45 - 7:55: Britta Riley, CEO of WindowFarms
7:55 - 8:05: James Wolff, VP of DSHAPE, the world's largest 3D concrete printer
8:05 - 9:30: networking
As usual, there'll be pizza and beer, and there will be NO FEE thanks to our wonderful new sponsors MakeSimply. Remember to give Allen Hsieh and Alan Hyman a high five when you see them!
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!
