Brenda Deverell & Tom Hosford Making Sense of Patient Data with MongoDB


Leveraging the Internet of Things for Clinical Health Research

Koneksa Health is a platform for continuous patient monitoring, bringing internet of things technologies into medical research. The software is used by partners at biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic hospitals/institutions.

In this talk Brenda and Tom will cover how Koneksa uses MongoDB enterprise to capture patient generated and reported data in their flagship application - Koneksa Compare. The talk covers different aspects of the data model, infrastructure and operation of the platform. They will elaborate on how Mongos flexible schema and seamless javascript integration made it a good choice for working with IoT devices.

Brenda Deverell is a full stack developer at Koneksa Health with a background and degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She was previously in a financial sector technology role and college lecturer of introductory programming. Tom Hosford is the VP of Engineering at Koneksa Health, where he leads development of Koneksa Compare, Koneksas flagship product for patient monitoring. Alim S. Gafar Getting Started with Flask and MongoDB Atlas

In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to build a small to-do application in Python with the Flask framework. They will also learn how to configure and connect to an Atlas-hosted MongoDB database as the data store. Participants will receive free Atlas credits that can be used for the exercise, and are encouraged to enroll in and complete theshort, free certification courseon MongoDB Atlas.
