Thinking for Glass by Allen

Before you write a line of code, you need to think about how your users will experience your program through Glass. Will it be comfortable and easy to use with Glass, or will it present a very un-Glass-like interface?

In this presentation, Allen will present several design scenarios and challenges. We'll discuss how the most obvious solution to each problem may not be suitable for Glass, but how learning to Think in Glass presents an experience that is distinct from what other devices may offer. We'll also see how each one is supported via the Mirror API or the Glass Development Kit.

Use-Case: How I Linked My Nerf Blaster to Glass by Zack

If you've only thought about writing Glassware, you're thinking too small! You can build Bluetooth devices that connect to wearables, bringing the real and the virtual that much closer. Learn how to design hardware, firmware, and Glassware that work together to create unforgettable experiences from the near future.

In front of an audience of developers at the Wearable DevCon in San Francisco, I modded a Nerf Longstrike to connect with a video-game-style HUD on Glass. Consider this session the TL;DR. I'll focus on the secret ingredients to creating a Glass-ready connected device and tying it to a cross-device interface. I'll also shoot some stuff.

Embedded devs, you'll learn how to bridge your projects to Glass. Android devs, you'll get a crash course on hardware prototyping. Not a dev? You'll learn the easiest ways to defeat common excuses, roll up your sleeves, and build your dream project in hardware and Glassware.
