DATA VISUALIZATION WITH D3.JS OVERVIEW

This course is about data visualization & D3, the powerful JavaScript library frequently used to create data visualizations on the web.

D3 can be challenging to use, & much of the difficulty comes with learning syntax & understanding data joins (the most fundamental aspect of D3). On top of that, there are the headaches associated with the minutiae of charts: scales, axes, labels, annotations & the like.

But that extra effort becomes worth it when you realize that with D3, you're in charge of every pixel. That power & control enables you to tell stories & communicate information interactively in ways that simply are not possible outside of a web browser.

About the Instructor

Paul Buffa is a data visualization engineer at Capital One Labs, with years of experience teaching & building data visualizations in areas such as education, FinTech, marketing, politics & fitness. He has taught D3 at the Metis Data Science Bootcamp, & worked as a TA for the Data Visualization course. In addition to his work, Paul is a passionate runner who trains for marathons & ultramarathons, escaping time-to-time to train in the Colorado Rockies.
