From 0 to 10 Million Droplets: What We Learned Scaling the Technical Infrastructure of DigitalOcean

How we scaled our infrastructure at digitalocean to be the 2nd largest hosting company in the world

Join us for a workshop with Bryan Liles, Strategic Outreach at DigitalOcean, as he shares how DigitalOcean has been able to scale to the second-largest hosting company in the world.

How did a three-year-old company like DigitalOcean grow from a tiny idea to a 200 person company with hundreds of thousands of paying customers? What magical sequence of events allowed the explosive growth without any implosions? How are they learning from their past endeavors and to move faster more expeditiously in the future? As someone on the technical side, Bryan will be sharing how their technology organization has fared throughout the past few years, and what they are planning on doing in the future. Come hear hard-learned advice and leave with hope for the future!

DigitalOcean maintains and provides cloud infrastructure that applications run on. More than 6 million of these droplets have been deployed, atop tens of thousands of servers, by more than 500,000 developers - making DigitalOcean the second largest hosting company in the world. Customers include Compose, Flywheel,Ghost, InfluxDB, Pertino, and TaskRabbit, and DigitalOcean has raised over $170M in funding from leading investors including Andreessen Horowitz and others.

Lunch will be served.
