About This Event
Overview: A conversation between Wall Street Journal sports columnist, Jason Gay & Sam Walker, the author of The Captain Class, a study of the greatest teams in sports history.
What Youll Take Away: Great leadership isnt a matter of skill & charisma. Its about behavior. The greatest captains in sports history had seven common traits but theyre not the ones youd expect. Walkers research, which took a decade to complete, will give you a new perspective on the nature of leadership that applies to teams in many fields.
Why It Matters: Were picking the wrong leaders, because we dont understand what successful leaders really do. In sports, business, politics & other fields, we often mistake positive leadership qualities for negative ones & end up overlooking the best candidates.
