If you are new to programming & feeling misdirected by self-teaching, this introductory course was developed for you!This program is designed to give individuals an understanding of the fundamental building blocks of HTML, CSS & JavaScript. You'll learnhow to use JavaScript to create dynamic, interactive websites. This part time class is intended to help you get your feet wet in the vast world of web development andculminates with a portfolio-ready capstone project.
Length: 32 hours, 3 weeks, 4 times per week, 3 hour sessions.
Fee: The final cost for this three week opportunity is $1450.

Who Should Take this Class?
This workshop is for anyone interested in learning to understand how to program interactive websites using JavaScript. Typically, we find there are three categories of students:

Hobbyist: Come & test the waters & see if working with programming logic & coding is something you enjoy.

Future Web Designer: You want to learn more about JavaScript in order to build powerful interfaces that can respond to user input

Future Web Development Immersive Student: If you are considering becoming a Galvanize Web Development student, you will find this workshop will give you the tools & techniques you are expected to know to enter the program. Course Breakdown
Week One (7/31/17-8/3/17):
Students will learn the basics of Java Script from data types, to conditions, objects & functions.
Week Two (8/7/17 - 8/10/17):
Student will use their JavaScript skills to build dynamic websites. Students will gain a solid understanding of the Document Object Model (DOM.) Students also will be introduced to the JavaScript library, jQuery & will finish this second week by learning how to deploy their work to the world. 
Week Three (8/14/17- 8/16/17):
During this final week, students will work on a final project (a dynamic website) that once completed will be portfolio ready. Students will have the chance to share their website with their cohort mates & recieve valuable feedback from Galvanize instructors.

<A HREF="https://www.linkedin.com/in/jen-shannon/" TARGET="_blank" REL="noopener noreferrer noopener nofollow noopener noreferrer nofollow nofollow noreferrer nofollow">Jennifer Shannon </A>is a software developer & educator who has been experimenting with code & hardware for over fifteen years in both professional & academic settings.
As an enterprise trainer & consultant, Jen has worked with Fortune 500 companies & startups, leading engineering teams & key industry stakeholders through emergent trends in technology. As lead instructor at NYCDA, she developed curriculum & course offerings, led numerous full stack immersives, & led training for NYCs Tech Talent Pipeline, preparing Computer Science undergraduate & graduate students for web development positions.
Jen has a Masters from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU, where she experimented with web technology as a Departmental Fellow, & a BS in Physics from Columbia University, where she researched MATLAB, C, & Computer Vision in a Physics Lab.

Refund Policy
A student who cancels within 7 days of signing the enrollemnt agreement but before instruction begins receives all monies returned with the exception of the non-refundable registration fee. Thereafter, a student will be liable for:

The non-refundable registration fee ($100.00) plus,

Tuition liability as of the student's last date of physical attendance. Tuition liability is determined by the percentage of the program offered to the student.

Refund Schedule If termination occurs, the school may keep:
Within 7 days of signing enrollment agreement, but before 1st Week: 0% 0-15% of the Program: 0% 16-30% of the Program: 25% 31%-45% of the Program: 50% 46-60% of the Program: 75% After 60% of the Program: 100%
