Ryan Hafen is back, talking about Trelliscope for visualizing many small multiple plots.

Thank you to Work-Bench for hosting.

We are slowly getting better with the livestreaming and will once again attempt to livestream this talk on both Facebook and YouTube.

About the Talk:

In this talk I will introduce and demonstrate the new TrelliscopeJS R package. This package provides a visualization platform for creating and viewing large interactive "small multiple" displays, also known as Trellis or faceted displays. With small multiple displays, the data is split into groups and a plot is made for each group, with the resulting plots arranged in a grid. This approach is simple but very effective for displaying and discovering interesting patterns in data and is an essential visualization approach in the data scientists toolbox. TrelliscopeJS enables small multiple displays to come alive by providing the ability to interactively navigate a potentially extremely large number of plots. The TrelliscopeJS package integrates with common R workflows such as ggplot2 and the "tidyverse", and produces easy-to-share interactive web-based visualizations. Several interesting examples of TrelliscopeJS in action will be shown.
