A New Series Launching May 1st at Science House! An Evening for Innovators inspired by the Genius of Michelangelo.

Feast on Innovation is a new series that places today's innovators in context with the great masters. Michelangelo is the guiding spirit of our May 1st event at Science House in which we'll explore genius, innovation and collaboration.

Talks and activities by major thought leaders in design, science and technology will show today's innovators how they can draw upon the genius of Michelangelo to push the next frontier of innovation.

The evening concludes with an exclusive dinner for just 12 guests inspired by Michelangelo's shopping list.

Speakers

Carine Carmy is Director of Marketing for Shapeways, the leading consumer 3D Printing service that enables individuals to make, buy and sell custom products. Prior to Shapeways, she worked in strategy consulting at Monitor Group and MarketspaceNext where she helped clients integrate customer insights and emerging technology to drive business growth.

Carine has published work in Ad Age, PSFK, Technology Review and Forbes.com on e-commerce, brand management, social media, and interaction design. She has also conducted extensive research on science, technology, and economic trends for The Milken Institute and Center for Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a BA in Economics.

Robert Counts

Robert is Associate Creative Director and Brand Manager at Epoch Times, an award winning, independent newspaper in Manhattan. He is also Brand Expert for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Robert and team were most recently awarded for Best Advertising Design, Best Overall Designed Newspaper and Best Photography by New York Press Association.

Having roots in classical oil painting, Robert uses knowledge of the past combined with the latest innovations in design to lead his team and approach design and brand problems.

James Heaton

James Heaton is President and Creative Director of the brand strategy firm Tronvig Group. Described as a "brand therapist," he helps organizations find and understand their true, best selves. He then facilitates the behaviors that allow an organization to live, breathe and communicate in ways that resonate with the right target audience.

James Jorasch

James is an entrepreneur and a named inventor on more than 600 issued patents focused on how people use machines and technology. His patents are currently owned or licensed by companies such as Facebook, Groupon, Zynga and eBay. A chess expert, memory competitor and improv teacher, James is a frequent speaker at conferences and has appeared on CNN, The Atlantic Monthly and in Forbes magazine. Psychology Today's profile of James called him the Father of Invention.

Prior to starting Science House, James was head of Inventing at Walker Digital where he helped incubate a number of businesses over a 15 year period, including Priceline.com and RetailDNA. Before joining Walker Digital, James was a management consultant with Deloitte & Touche and a Financial Analyst for the Tropicana Casino. He received a B.S. and MBA degree from Cornell University.

Rita J. King

Rita currently serves as futurist at the Science and Entertainment Exchange of the National Academy of Sciences, inventing future scenarios, characters, gadgets and story architecture for film and TV. She has served as futurist at NASA Langley's think tank, the National Institute of Aerospace. She is the Director of Future Systems for Flat World Knowledge, and a Weizmann Advocate for Curiosity. She served as Innovator-in-Residence at IBM Analytics Virtual Center. She is a former Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, where she worked on a global ethnography related to identity across the physical and virtual world. She's a Salzburg Global Fellow with a focus on the future of intercultural collaboration through art and science.

Rita is a former investigative journalist on the nuclear industry. She is an ethicist who focuses on the unintended consequences of technological development, including machine intelligence. Features by her or about her work have appeared globally, including on or in Forbes, CNN, Fox News, The BBC, The Guardian, The Christian Science Monitor, Le Figaro, The Village Voice, The Atlantic, The New York Times and The New York Times Magazine,Scientific American, the Design Observer, Al Jazeera and TIME. She writes a monthly column about the future for Fast Company. Rita is the creator of the Imagination Age and a LinkedIn Influencer. She also makes Mystery Jars.

Gary Schwartz

Over the past 15 years, Gary has played a leadership role in the mobile industry. Gary is the CEO of Impact Mobile, Inc. and the author of "THE IMPULSE ECONOMY" and "FAST SHOPPER, SLOW STORE" published by Simon & Schuster, Atria Imprint. In 2013, Gary was recognized by Mobile Marketer publication as the "Mobile Commerce Evangelist of the Year.

Gary ran the first cross-carrier short code campaign in North America. In 2006, Gary founded and chaired mobile committee for the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) helping to establish a joint task force between the IAB, Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and the Media Rating Council (MRC) to develop global, auditable mobile measurement standards for which he received an IAB award for industry excellence in 2009. Gary was elected for three terms as the Chairman of MEF North America (www.mefmobile.org) with a remit to develop a mobile commerce practice to service payment vendors, retailers and content owners for which he received a MEF award for industry excellence in 2010.

Gary presently is the Global Director of the Location Based Marketing Association; the Executive Chairman of 4More Innovation and Special Adviser to The Wireless Registry.

Gary is the recipient of the Macromedia People Choice Award, Retail Touchpoints Customer Engagement Award, as well as the Dodge Foundation award for innovation. Gary is an Asia and Japan Foundation Fellow.
