<P>Rolling Stone magazine's <A HREF="http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/a-note-to-our-readers-20141205" REL="nofollow">recent retraction</A> of parts of its story on an alleged rape at the University of Virginia has focused attention on media accuracy. We'll explore ways to improve it at CUNY J-School on Thursday, Feb. 26. NYCity News Service Director <A HREF="http://www.journalism.cuny.edu/cunyj_profiles/jere-hester/" REL="nofollow">Jere Hester</A> and Vocativ Managing Editor <A HREF="https://twitter.com/markham" REL="nofollow">Markham Nolan</A> will lead workshops on real world technologies, skills, and procedures that can help journalists avoid career-ending mistakes despite less editing, the demands of 24/7 news cycles, and the end of traditional fact checking.</P>
<P>Doors open at 6 pm. The program will run from 6:30 - 8 pm, with a reception and networking to follow.</P>
