EVENT DETAILS
Join us for The Future of Journalism, the first Startup Socials event of 2017, co-hosted by Longneck & Thunderfoot and The Call List. We will host a panel of media experts who will discuss the changing landscape for journalism. We'll talk about the impact of new technologies in the field, as well as the new political reality for journalists in the US and abroad. Topics will include the impact of live streaming technology, personalized news and the impact of social media on journalism, journalistic integrity in the age of fake news, and more.

Potential topics and questions we will explore at this event include:
What are media outlets doing to gain influence in 2017? Particularly, what technologies are they using to reach and inform more viewers and readers?
What are facts today? What is the future of unbiased journalism?
What are reporters and journalists doing to establish their professional credibility and authenticity?
What is fake news? How big of a problem is it? How do we stop it?
How has citizen journalism changed? What is the impact of citizen journalists on professional journalistic practices?

Panelists include industry experts from TIME, the UN, and Columbia Journalism Review. Free pizza, beer, and wine will be provided!
