systemd is a core component of most of today's Linux distributions,both commercial and community ones. Its job is to bring up and keep upLinux systems -- it's the glue that holds the various components ofthe system together.
In this sessionLennartwill give a brief introduction to systemd, forthose new to it. We'll discuss the history and background of theproject. We'll talk about a few advanced features of systemd,focusing in particular on using systemd with containers, both on thehost and inside of them. Finally, we'll discuss where systemddevelopment is going next.
Lennartprefers interactive discussions over plain lectures, so pleasemake sure to bring a question or two to ask for the Q&A.
