Ivy Nguyenis an associate at Zetta Ventures, a venture capital firm based in San Francisco. Ivy brings over four years of experience as an investor & startup advisor in the technology space.

Prior to joining Zetta Ventures, Ivy was Senior Associate at NewGen Capital, a venture capital firm providing early stage deep tech startups with growth opportunities in China & the greater APAC region. During her tenure at NewGen she sourced & led investments in several companies including Constructor, NuCypher, Assembly, & Agridata.

Before NewGen, Ivy managed the startup accelerator program at Imagine H2O, an organization supporting global water innovation. At IH2O Ivy supported over 40 water tech startups from over 14 countries including Israel, Australia, & Singapore by connecting them to the program's growing network of investors, mentors, & pilot partners at major Fortune 1000 companies.

Ivy earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, where she served as News Managing Editor of the Stanford Daily.

Ron Bodkinis the GM & VP of Artificial Intelligence at Teradata. Ron is responsible for leading the global emerging technology team focusing on artificial Intelligence, GPU & block chain. Responsible for leading global consulting teams for enterprise analytics architectures combining Hadoop & Spark, public cloud & traditional data warehousing, driving strategic pillar for Teradata.

Previously, Ron was the founding CEO of Think Big Analytics. Think Big provides end-to-end support for enterprise Big Data including data science, data engineering, advisory & managed services & frameworks such as Kylo for enterprise data lakes. Think Big was acquired by Teradata in 2014 & was the leading global pure play big data services firm.

Prior to that, Ron was the vice president of engineering at Quantcast where he led the data science & engineer teams that pioneered the use of Hadoop & NoSQL for batch & real-time decision making. Prior to that, Ron was Founder of New Aspects, which provided enterprise consulting for Aspect-oriented programming. Ron was also the co-founder & CTO of B2B applications provider C-Bridge, which he led to team of 900 people & a successful IPO.

Ron graduated with honors from McGill University with a B.S. in Math & Computer Science. Ron also earned his masters degree in Computer Science from MIT, leaving the PhD program after the idea for C-bridge & placing in the finals of the 50k Entrepreneurship Contest

Brandon Reevesis an associate on the investment team at Lux Capital. His goal is to identify companies that are turning science fiction into science fact especially in areas of mobility, space, robotics, & the human brain.

Prior to joining Lux, Brandon was on the investment team at Capricorn Investment Group, based in Palo Alto, where he focused on autonomy, mobility, semiconductors & energy. While there, he led the firms investments in Navitas, a power electronics silicon company.

Previously, Brandon worked for Texas Instruments in Sunnyvale, California, where he was a Field Applications Engineer that supported Tesla Motors. In that role he worked with Tesla on its autopilot designs, next generation infotainment, & the sensor system for the Model X falcon wing doors.

Brandon grew up in South Florida & earned a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida & an MBA from Harvard Business School.

About the Moderator:

Bill Ahmannis a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in Sheppard Mullins Palo Alto office.

Bill focuses on intellectual property law in the fields of wireless networks, telecommunications, computers, software, semiconductors, electronics, security, business methods, & the Internet.

Other areas of his practice include patent prosecution, licensing, litigation, copyright, trademark procurement, & designs protection. Bill has worked with a number of clients, rendering patent opinions, including invalidity & noninfringement opinions, focusing on patent prosecution & patent analysis, & establishing internal patent procurement programs & competitive analysis.

Bill has drafted, supervised, and/or prosecuted approximately 600 patent applications, & has filed and/or prosecuted dozens of reexaminations. He has been involved in multiple litigations matters & monetization efforts. He also has served as primary counsel in many licensing negotiations.

Bill holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law & a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Missouri.
