Join us for Session 3 of a three-part program designed to assist principals of early-stage companies in establishing solid foundations for their entrepreneurial ventures. Each program will be delivered by a panel of attorneys with extensive experience in both the subject matter of the series and the operations and concerns of startups and emerging growth companies. These interactive sessions will be equally valuable for principals of existing companies and those intending to start companies.

In this session, we will discuss issues related to:

-The fundamentals of copyright, trademark, patent and other forms of intellectual property (IP) protection
-Securing IP rights from founders, employees, consultants and vendors
-Common IP issues related to software and user generated content
-Protecting your IP from infringement.
-Avoid infringement of third party IP

Jerrold B. Spiegel heads the Technology, eCommerce & Privacy Group, and is a member of the firm’s Publishing Group. He has advised clients involved with computer-based media and on-line services since 1985. His clients include online publishers, software developers and consultants, website developers and operators, video game and other mobile content providers and developers, online content providers, eCommerce companies as well as the more traditional advertising and promotion companies, commercial production companies, filmmakers, book producers and publishers, including magazine publishers. Mr. Spiegel is the author of numerous articles and publications including “Do We Have A Deal or Not? Jessica R. Friedman has practiced copyright, trademark and literary property law in New York City for over two decades. Her clients include technology, publishing, e-commerce and entertainment companies as well as individual authors.
