Description
The 2012 Mobile DevCamp NYC Developers Hackathon (formally iOS•iPad•iPhone DevCamp NYC’s) is an annual not-for-profit developers hackathon to create applications for the mobile technology platform. This year the focus is on the arrival of cloud technology (exemplified by Apple’s iCloud product) and what it means as an integral component of mobile applications. Cloud integration will also be a component of the hackathon competition, which has a new twist this year – developers will compete for prizes in “Iron Chef-Style” challenges that will not be announced before the event.

This year’s event is again being organized and sponsored by CodeFab LLC , a privately held mobile interactive application development firm based in New York City. CodeFab provides a wide range of consulting solutions for Android and iPhone, iPad, IOS development, training, systems integration, and high performance web applications for more information please visit CodeFab.com. Since 2009 CodeFab has sponsored organizing the Mobile DevCamp NYC events as the satellite organization of the iOSDevCamp, iPadDevCamp, and iPhoneDevCamp not-for-profit organization that gathers annually to develop applications for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch using both the native SDK and web standards. The events format are “un-conference” or Barcamp-style, featuring content from the participants.

Attendees will include Apple iOS developers, Google Android developers, web developers, UI designers, and testers, all working together over the weekend. Development projects will include both solo and team efforts. While some attendees will wish to work solo during the event, we encourage attendees to team up, based on expertise, to work in ad-hoc project development teams. All attendees should be prepared to work on a development project during the event. Attendees are encouraged to attend the Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference and/or Google’s I/O Developer Conferences.

The organizing committee of the 2012 Mobile DevCamp NYC Hackathon consist of Alex Cone, Ron Perkey, Arden Surdam, and Cal Thixton. If you need to contact the committee please visit our contact page. Hope to see you there, come join us in all the fun early registration is taking place!
