Learn about solving interview algorithms using recursion.

Recursion is used in solving algorithms commonly asked in techincal interviews. It's a fundamental & elegant skill needed to solve problems as a Developer. Using recursion in interviews impresses hiring managers who are interviewing future Developers (you).

At Galvanize, we believe it's important to understand how to use recursion, so we include it early on in our Computer Science curriculum. Many students of other coding education programs only ever see a recursive solution to the Fibonacci sequence when discussing this topic. We will dive much deeper.

In this workshop, we will cover the following:

The Call Stack & what that means

Draw stack diagrams to visualize how JavaScript is executing while solving the problem

Reimplement common JavaScript functions (map, filter & forEach) using recursion

Prerequisite:

The language we'll be using is JavaScript. Beginner level proficiency requested.

Please bring your laptops.
