Suzy Schulz, SVP at Cumulus. Suzy Schulz is senior vice president of marketing for Cumulus / Westwood One. She previously held management roles at Citadel Broadcasting & iHeartMedia. More recently she has been instrumental in driving the Cumulus & Westwood One move into distributing content through voice assistants. In 2017, Ms. Schulz was named by Radio Ink as one of the most influential women in radio.
Matt Hartman, Partner at Betaworks & curator of Hearing Voices.Prior to joining betaworks, Mr. Hartman built ReferBoost (licensed to Apartments.com), & was at Hot Potato (acquired by Facebook). Betaworks recently completed its Voicecamp accelerator class that included eight voice technology startups leveraging AI. Mr. Hartman is also the inventor of Patent #8189781 related to the protection of digital images.
Ahmed Bouzid, CEO/Founder at Witlingo & author of Don't Make Me Tap!Witlingo is a McLean, VA based startup focused on delivering Voice First products & solutions to the market. Dr. Bouzid was previously Product Head at Amazon & lead the launch of the Alexa Smart Home offering. He is also a co-inventor & holder of 12 patents in the field of Voice Automation & Conversational Technology.

Come with your laptop & a Facebook Page & leave with a chatbot.No prior coding background needed. We get you started with a simple JavaScript bot that you can further extend visually or with code as you need.

The special pre-event chatbot workshop will be taught by a trainer from IBM & we will get you up & running with a Facebook Messenger chatbot powered by IBM Watson Conversation by the end of the session.
Chatbots are an exciting & growing space spanning across all business sizes: solo, startup, SMB, & enterprise as well as industries from entertainment to finance & everything in between. Whether you are looking to bring a chatbot use case back to your enterprise or want to become a freelance bot builder or agency this workshop will kickstart your journey.

This workshop will help you get on the path of having a base chatbot AND knowing how to make it effective. Built using IBM Watson Conversation, your bot can match the user's intent even when they don't type exactly what you expect & it's highly extensible so you can keep making your bot smarter as you learn about your usersWe'll also go over a checklist of good design practices so you can sidestep the usual pitfalls early bots run into.
