TOPIC & SPEAKER

How Do You #Rethink Art Patronage?

Alexis is setting his sights on the record and publishing industries and making sure that artists get their fair pay in the ever changing digital world. Let's talk about music, and what this means for the future.

Alexis Ohanian is a serial entrepreneur. He co-founded reddit with Steve Huffman in 2005, then sold it to Conde Nast 16 months later. After that, he started breadpig, a social enterprise he describes as “Newman’s Own for nerds.” In 2010, he helped get the travel search site hipmunk off the ground, and he now sits on its advisory board. He's been recognized in both Inc Magazine’s “30 Under 30” and well as the Forbes '30 Under 30.'

In early November 2011, Alexis joined the fight against SOPA and PIPA. He became one of the public faces for the movement.

“Without Your Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Made, Not Managed”, his first book, will be released this fall.

Please join us for this exciting event. We'll be serving a light breakfast, Intelligentsia coffee and a lively discussion. Feel free to forward this invitation to other like-minded folks. We look forward to seeing you!
