About the Speakers
Lizania Cruz (Moderator)
Born & raised in the Dominican Republic, Lizania Cruz is a New York-based designer working in fashion, start-ups, arts, & advocacy. Currently, she is the art director at General Assembly where she oversees design for brand & marketing. Lizania is an AIGANY board member & a Create Change artist in residence with the Laundromat Project. Her work has been recognized by AIGA, Type Directors Club, Communication Art among others.
Senior Product Designer,
Jacqueline is a Senior Product Designer at BuzzFeed where she designs a suite of internal analytic tools. With over a decade of experience, her work focuses on untangling complexity through design & system thinking whether designing for analytic dashboards, content products, or puzzle games.
Prior to BuzzFeed, she was a design consultant for France-based TV & print media organizationsLe Monde, France Tlvisions & Groupe Sud Ouestcreating their digital products. Previously, she worked as an art director at an indie-game studio Gamelab, as well as for freelance clients including Standard & Poors, PBS, NYT & United Nations.
While not working, she explores map design with her son.
Senior Product Designer,
Datrianna is from from the windiest city, Chicago. After studying business at Howard University & doing strategy consulting for a few years, she decided to pursue a career in design. Datrianna moved to New York to attend SVA, where she got an MFA in Interaction Design. She now works as Senior Product Designer at Spotify. Prior to that that, she worked for American Express where she focused on designing financial products for credit-averse users. In her spare time, Datrianna can be found listening to podcasts, exploring the best ice cream & coffee in the city, practicing her DJ skills, or doing yoga.
