(We're at a new venue this month! Please note that we're not meeting at Pivotal Labs.)
Poverty, climate change, public health, digital inclusion, workers rights, affordable housing & transportation, criminal justice reform, urban sprawl & gentrification the Big Problems facing communities across our nation and world require complex analysis and stakeholder alignment well beforea process and wire frame can be designed, or a line of code written.
There are no check-lists for success in the startup world, and there sure arent any silver bullets when tackling the Big Problems of our time. Emerging technologies (IoT, AI, blockchain) and modern methods & practices (lean, agile, design thinking) cannot solve these structural issues, but they can give leaders new tools and data for decision making that thinks more holistically about the public good and sustainable value creation.
In this talk, well look to answer the questions: What does it mean to be a responsible business, efficient government agency, effective non-profit, and an engaged citizen in todays world? How can we adapt frameworks like AgileUX and tools like machine learning to solve challenges larger than delivering healthy food to wealthy people?
